Middle Eastern and A&W Coney Dog inspired Hot Dog
Minced meat sausages inspired by Middle Eastern minced meat kebab and A&W Coney Dog sauce.
COOKSFOOD HACK
Started out trying to replicate the A&W Coney Dog sauce as topping for Hot Dogs today. The sauce has hints of spices like coriander and fennel seeds, and I thought tastes very much like the Middle eastern Dish, Foul Medames (Kacang Phool in South-east Asia), except that this dish is mainly made from Fava Beans (Broad Beans) and no meat.
Plan B - I have minced meat, and thought it would be healthier to make my own sausage rolls instead of using the store bought ones. But, this version is not fully made from scratch but I bought Kacang Phool, from my favourite coffee-shop and used it as a base for my minced meat sausage rolls. Also made some quarter-pounder burger patties.
Added half cup of Foul Medames sauce to 1 kg of ground beef (15-20% fat).
Other usual suspects for the patties - ground black pepper, smoked paprika (1 table spoon), 2 teaspoons salt, half cup bread crumbs, 2 chicken-eggs, a dash (or 2) of olive oil.
Rolled the mix in between parchment paper (i used dim-sum sheets) and flattened some to make burger-patties. Placed them into the freezer. Took out some after half hour and grilled in air fryer for 10-ish minutes at 160 degrees Celcius to make hot dogs.
